Fantastic trios and luscious cantatas from Dietrich Buxtehude (1637/39-1707), the composer that the young Bach walked 250 miles to visit. Featuring Eric Brenner, countertenor; Cynthia Freivogel, violin; Arnie Tanimoto, viola da gamba; Adam Cockerham, theorbo; and Gwendolyn Toth, harpsichord & organ.
Don’t miss the pre-concert lecture at 6:30 pm with noted musicologist Sara Ruhle Kyle. Learn about the historical background and musical context for Buxtehude’s chamber music.
