ARTEK performs soprano and alto sacred cantatas by the 17th-century baroque German composer, Johann Rosenmueller, whose music is the link between the Venetian early 17th-century style of Monteverdi’s music and the high baroque cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach. Featuring soloists mezzo-soprano Barbara Hollinshead and countertenor Ryland Angel, accompanied by an instrumental ensemble led by violinist Cynthia Freivogel and director Gwendolyn Toth.
