SUMMARY:Mozart and A Woman of Genius
DESCRIPTION:Mozart’s most famous violin sonata in B-flat\, K 454 was written for the Italian virtuosa\, Regina Strinasacchi\, who famously received the part only the night before the performance. Leopold Mozart said of her: “Her whole heart and soul is in the melody she delivers\, and her power and beauty of tone are equally remarkable. I believe\, as a rule\, that a woman of genius plays with more expression than a man.” Enrico Gatti\, violin and Gwendolyn Toth\, fortepiano play the Sonata in B-flat and other chamber works by Mozart.
